6 Facebook Tips and Tricks to Try Now

facebooktips
You already know that Facebook is essential for your marketing initiatives, whether you’re a global corporation or a solopreneur. But are you getting the most out of it? We’ve compiled a list of some little-known Facebook tips and tricks to help you rock your social media effectiveness.

  1. Post Those Instagrams

You probably already know that posts with images get way more clicks. But did you know that images posted to Facebook via Instagram get way more interaction? Interestingly this isn’t true with other types of cross-posting. For instance, native Facebook videos get more clicks than videos uploaded via Youtube. Is it just a coincidence that Facebook owns Instagram?

2. To Hashtag or Not to Hashtag?

It may be time to reconsider adding a million hashtags at the end of each post. They may be effective on Twitter and Instagram, but research shows that Facebook posts without hashtags actually perform better than those with. So when you’re posting to different social platforms, consider altering your message depending on where it’s going.

3. Be Mobile Friendly

Of Facebook’s more than 1.5 billion users, 46% of Facebook users exclusively log in via their mobile device. It is expected that that number will exceed 50% sometime in 2016. Is your content mobile-friendly? Make sure that the links you’re posting are optimized for a mobile device, or you could quickly lose a big section of your audience.

4. Your Audience is Aging

Facebook is growing up! A common misconception is that millennials rule the Facebook world. Not so. According to AdWeek, users in the Western world are older than those in developing nations. Now, 66% of users are age 30 or older. There are 17% more people over the age of 40 using Facebook than younger generations. So make sure you tailor your marketing messages to fit a more mature audience.

5. Tag People, Places and Companies

It’s called social media, not you media. The whole point is to grow your audience organically, by interacting with others. Are you attending a conference next week? Let you audience know, and make sure you tag the conference or host’s Facebook page. Simply type a # and begin typing the name of the page. Check out our example here.

6. Ask Your Audience!

And most importantly, get a conversation going! This applies to all social media networks. It’s all about interaction.
